Josh Taylor delivered a remarkable performance defeating Jose Carlos Ramirez in an enthralling super-lightweight unification bout. The Scot has written his name in the history books as he becomes Britain's first undisputed world champion in the four-belt era.

On May the 22nd, 2021, at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, the world witnessed Josh Taylor knocked down Jose Ramirez with two devastating left hands on his way to recording a 114-112 score on all the judges' cards. Taylor, who is undefeated in 18 bouts after inflicting Ramirez's first loss, is just the fifth man in the sport to hold all four belts in a division, joining the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Bernard Hopkins, Jermain Taylor and Terence Crawford.

Taylor almost looked overwhelmed with the 28-year-old's speed, as both fighters exchanged fierce shots throughout the fourth. The Scot suffered a cut on his left eye, but the blood did not stop him from gaining the upper hand. Ultimately, Taylor showed no signs of letting up and fought with all his might to score a double knockdown in the sixth and seventh round respectively. Credit to Ramirez as he showed heart and gave it his all.

Josh Taylor with an impeccable record of (18-0, 13 KOs), has now become Scotland's second undisputed world champion, half a century after his idol Ken Buchanan. With Taylor sitting at the very pinnacle of the super-lightweight class, one can only wonder who can mount a challenge for that throne.
