The 50/50 Heavyweight Rematch Of The Year
This rematch between Derek Chisora and Kubrat Pulev has been six years in the works, with Chisora having fought in a slew of fantastic fights in the interim and Pulev challenging Anthony Joshua for the world heavyweight title belts.
This time, the conflict appears to be more fascinating than the first. The first battle occurred in Germany in front of a pro-Pulev audience. Pulev's sole defeat at the time was to Wladimir Klitschko, and he was still regarded as one of the world's most dangerous heavyweights.
On the other hand, Chisora was away from home, wasn't putting on the most spectacular performances, and was a huge underdog with the bookies. However, despite still being the betting underdog, it appears like the switch has been flipped, and boxing fans are giving Chisora every chance to right the wrongs of the previous bout.
Since their last fight, Chisora has had close battles with Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker, and even the current heavyweight king, Oleksandr Usyk, who Chisora caused significant issues for multiple rounds. He has also won convincingly against Carlos Takam and Artur Szpilka.
That is what makes this battle so intriguing. Despite the fact that both men are six years older, it appears that Pulev has aged more rapidly while Chisora is pursuing a second profession.
Our prediction is Derek Chisora will overturn the first fight's result and walk away with the victory on Saturday night at the O2 Arena. It's debatable how he accomplishes it, but we can picture Chisora bringing 'war' and coming out on top. The 38-year-relentlessness old's and aggressive style might cause trouble for the Bulgarian heavyweight, who will need to be on his game for 36 minutes if he is to return to his birthplace victorious.
Prediction for Derek Chisora vs. Kubrat Pulev 2: Chisora will triumph.
