Nemkov And Anderson Ready For The Rematch

Nemkov And Anderson Ready For The Rematch

Headlining Bellator 288 in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, November 18, 2022 (Sat, November 19 in INA), the light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov (15-2) and number one contender and former UFC fighter Corey Anderson will fight once more, following a No Contest conclusion to their first bout in April this year.

Nemkov is in a most successful run in the Bellator cage. The student of MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko is looking to make his third title defense against Anderson. Nemkov was a dominant athlete even before entering the world of mixed martial arts, having competed in combat sambo achieving four world championships under his belt. However, Anderson, a former contender in the UFC rankings, has proved himself capable of handling the Russian champion. He showcased a near-dominating performance against Nemkov in the first meeting before the clash of heads, forcing him to wait for 7 months to finally earn another rematch for the Bellator gold.

In this rematch, expect Nemkov to be much more aggressive and apply pressure on Anderson. At the same time, Anderson will continue to be more strategic in his offense to secure a win against Nemkov. This will surely be an exciting matchup that will shake the Bellator light-heavyweight scene in the coming months.

In the co-main event, Patricky Pitbull, younger brother of Patricio Pitbull, will face Usman Nurmagomedov, cousin of the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for his first title defense. Patrick will have his hands full against Usman, as Usman has looked impressive with knockout finishes in his last 3 fights. Patrick must be very hands-on and ugly in this fight and cautious of Usman’s wrestling. At the same time, Usman must keep this fight very technical and show the world that he can hang with the top lightweights.

Bellator MMA looks to be filling a lot of great fights that lead to the final PPV that they will co-promote with Rizin MMA on December 31, 2022. A great treat for any fight fans looking for great fighters showcasing their skills and talent and providing an entertaining fight for the fans.

While Bellator has two title fights, this week, the UFC will showcase the return of “The Black Beast” Derrick Lewis on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the UFC Apex as he returns to the octagon against fellow heavyweight Sergey Spivak, with the co-main event featuring Ion Cutelaba against Kennedy Nzechukwu. It should be just your typical Derrick Lewis fight. Expect the fight to finish early or turns into an ugly brawl for both fighters. It’s always an entertaining fight if Lewis is fighting. He is always there to deliver. Cutelaba will be in desperate mode as he has been on a losing streak lately, so he needs a win against Kennedy to ensure his place in the light heavyweight scene.
