Boxing Was Awesome, MMA Was Dull This Week
Spence Becomes The Best Welterweight In The World!
On Saturday at the AT&T Stadium, Errol Spence looked spectacular, facing off against Yordenis Ugas and unifying three of the four major welterweight world titles in a jam-packed arena. His final stop is Terrence Crawford, an opponent Spence has wanted for years in his boxing career. Is it now the time to do it after a dominating performance??
Spence picked up a TKO victory in the 10th round after The ring doctor stopped Ugas because of a badly swollen eye; Ugas showed the heart and the will to win as we fought against Spence, especially when he fought was in the distance. Still, Spence’s output smothered Ugas, which ended the battle in the 10th round.
Spence called out Crawford in a tweet after the fight. “Now the real fight happens,” Crawford said in a Tweet. “No more talk, no more side of the street.” while Ugas was transported to the local hospital after the fight ended, his future seemed bright. After retiring from inactive competition for two years and giving out a fantastic performance, his next opponent should be Imantas Stanionis or Keith Thurman.
Bellator MMA is officially the B-League of US MMA??
Bellator 277 was live at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on a night filled with bizarre decisions and disappointing main card. Patricio Freire def. A.J. McKee, via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47), Mckee showed that he is not ready to fight any UFC contenders, despite his frequent callouts and claiming that he is the best featherweight in the world. At the same time, the “pitbull” did little to no activity during the fight despite the victory and claiming the belt.
Corey Anderson vs. Vadim Nemkov is declared a no-contest (accidental headbutt) - In round 3, Anderson was dominating half of the fight while Nemkov finally found a worthy adversary for him to defend his belt; this Grand Prix final bout was abruptly cut short after Nemkov suffered an accidental headbutt in the 3rd round that made the fight into a no-contest, Anderson was not happy with the decision. He claimed that he was the uncrowned champion in the match.
Scott Coker will have to explain this event in the coming weeks because it could be one of Bellator’s MMA lackluster PPV in recent history.
Be honest with me, you didn’t watch the UFC card this week, did you? or at least did not even pay attention to the fight at all, so these are the quick result of the battle:
Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad will square off in a critical welterweight showdown. Luque has won four straight fights, while Muhammad has racked up six wins in his past seven contests.
Luque defeated Muhammad via first-round KO in the first meeting at UFC 205 on November 12, 2016.
Muhammad called out Colby Covington and flexed his victory with a pair of sunglasses, and that’s about it; his performance was dominating but lacked any worthy highlights in the bout against Luque.
