Joshua Likes Money, Not Fighting The Best Of The Best. Fury Whyte Is Official.

In a recent interview, Eddie Hearn claimed that Fury wanted no part of a full division unification with Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA titles. For weeks, investors have been discussing a complete division unification between Fury and Usyk, with the goal of securing the high-stakes unification fight. Anthony Joshua would receive a step-aside pay in exchange for opting out of his scheduled rematch with Usyk. According to reports, the sum was $15 million.

Dillian Whyte, on the other hand, would need a $5 million step-aside to be released from his mandatory battle with Tyson Fury. However, it was revealed that Fury-Usyk was no longer in talks. Fury submitted an ordered purse offer for his obligatory fight with Whyte, and Warren won the promotional rights with a record-breaking $42 million price. The fight is scheduled to take place on April 23rd.

The Fury vs. Usyk discussions broke down when Joshua demanded an additional $5 million. "It's all immaterial to me, and I don't give a damn what Eddie Hearn says." Warren told Talk Sport, "Eddie Hearn says a lot of things, and he's part of the problem why these things don't get across the line." "When we were trying to put together a fight between Joshua and Tyson a year ago, he would announce every week, 'It's done, the contracts are being released,' despite the fact that we all signed an agreement not to make any statements until it was done."

It went on for a long time in Tyson's opinion. When Joshua requested an additional $5 million, he just answered, "Enough is enough," and that was the end of it. 'I'm not interested, he's too greedy,' he said, and that was that. He's a champion, to be sure. He and Usyk, both of them, wanted to put it on. But there were two people in the middle: one was suing the WBC, and the other was demanding ever-increasing sums of money."
