BYON Combat Showbiz Vol. 4: Indonesia Dominates in a Night of Milestones and Epic Fights

BYON Combat Showbiz Vol. 4 delivered an unforgettable evening of high-stakes action as fighters from Indonesia and Malaysia clashed in one of the most anticipated combat sports events of the year. Held at the Tennis Indoor Senayan on Saturday, November 30, 2024, the event showcased intense rivalries, dramatic finishes, and a clear message: Indonesia’s fighters are a force to be reckoned with.

Rudy "Golden Boy" Steals the Show

The night culminated in a thrilling main event where Rudy "Golden Boy" Agustian faced Malaysia’s Dean Hamsah for the prestigious ISKA K1 Southeast Asia Title and K1 Byon Championship Belt. Rudy’s aggressive Muay Thai style shone from the opening bell, as he unleashed a barrage of combinations and low kicks that tested Dean’s resilience and skills.

However, it was in the fourth round that Rudy delivered the decisive blow—a powerful left straight to Dean’s body. The perfectly timed shot sent Dean to his knees, unable to recover within the referee’s count. Rudy’s dramatic KO victory not only earned him the championship belts but also cemented his place as one of the region’s premier fighters.

A Strong Night for Indonesian Fighters

The night wasn’t just about Rudy. Indonesian fighters dominated the event, securing major victories against their Malaysian opponents.

Fadly Faisal, a well-known influencer and actor, showcased his boxing prowess by defeating Malaysia’s Aisar Khaled via unanimous decision. The win earned Fadly the ICB International Title, marking his transition from the entertainment world to serious combat sports.

Ongen Saknosiwi, one of the undercard stars, brought glory to Indonesia by claiming the WBA South Title with a stunning KO victory over Thailand’s Saharat T. Aehirun. Ongen’s victory was a proud moment for Indonesian boxing, showing that local athletes are ready to shine on the international stage.

Other standout performances included:

  • Felmy Sumaehe, who secured the WBA Asia Title with a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Australia’s Shanell Dargan.

  • Serieal Effendy, who delivered an emphatic KO victory over Jordan Boy (Malaysia).

  • Mitra, who ended his fight against Malaysia’s Shaharuddin with a devastating KO in under a minute.

Malaysia’s Lone Victory

While Indonesia celebrated numerous triumphs, Malaysia did have one shining moment. Putra Abdullah defeated Kkungke (Bernad Salasa) via TKO in the fourth round, claiming the Byon Boxing Belt as well as the performance of the night. Despite this, the overwhelming dominance of the Indonesian fighters defined the night.

What This Means for Indonesian Combat Sports

BYON Combat Showbiz Vol.4 proves to atleast the Asian combat sports scene that Indonesia can make an international event happen with the rate of attendance and marketing that the promotion has done in the buildup and exectution of the event.

The vision of the CEO of Byon Combat, Yosua Marcellos is beginning to come to fruition, to make Indonesia a central hub from combat sports event in Asia, with the less frequency of Influencers fighting in the event, and more of a athlete centric or Influencers who are actually dedicated to the sport shows that they are steadily ready to legitimize their event to become a contender in the world of martial arts events in Asia, congratulations to BYON for producing a milestone of an event, an event where they actually sold tickets and Pay per views to a degree of success.

The world will be tuning in for the next BYON Combat Showbiz event in 2025.
