A Night To Remember In Indonesian Boxing, and Islam Makhachev Is Ready!

What’s up, fighters! I hope you are all doing well; below is a recap of what happened last weekend in the fighting world:

Paris Fernandes Defeated A Gold Medalist, and Lawyers Take Center Stage, Indonesia Reigns Supreme!

Last Sunday, on February 27, 2022, Holywings, a group well known for its vast bars and entertainment group, made their boxing promotion debut in their event called Holywings SuperSport Show in Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, featuring a WBC Internation Champion Light Flyweight title fight between Tibo Monabesa (INA) Vs. Jayson Vayson (PHI) & Defry Palulu (INA) vs. Rekkawe (THA), while also featuring two celebrity fight bouts, featuring Vicky Prasetyo against Aldy Taher and the viral sensation Paris Fernandes against Tiktok star Jekson Karmella.

Both Indonesian warriors won by decision in a close fight and received a bonus of 200 million rupiah cash prize by Holywings. Vicky Prasetyo won the fight against Taher, who was running and ducking in the majority of the bout, and gave a speech about the rise of Indonesia Boxing. Finally, Paris Fernandes shocked the world as he was victorious against PON gold medalist Jekson Karmella by split decision. Fernandes dominated the four rounds with aggressive punches and dominant overhand to secure the victory.

Islam Makhacev Earns A Quick Finish Against Bobby Green

Islam Makhachev rightfully earns his title shot after dominating another opponent in the UFC Vegas 49 main event. The Dagestani powerhouse needed only one round to finish Bobby Green after planting him on the canvas with a takedown and never allowing the veteran fighter to do anything in the first round. As soon as Makhachev got on top, he began raining down blows that had Green trapped without any room to escape. referee Herb Dean saw enough to stop the contest with the end coming at just 3:23 in the opening round. “I feel good,” Makhachev said following his 10th consecutive win in a row. “I’m very happy. I’m training so hard for this fight. I was waiting for Beneil [Dariush], I think he’ll fix his [injury] very soon and we can meet again.”

“I’m really disappointed,” Bobby Green said. “But this is what happens when you try to throw something together so fast. At least he got the finish, he did exactly what he said he was going to do.”

Now it appears he’ll await the upcoming title fight between reigning champion Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 in May to see who he will face next.

“I just want a title fight,” Makhachev said. “I’m tired about all these things. I need a title fight. I am ready, I am here. Just tell me when and where, that’s it.”
