A Dominant and Lackluster Performance

The long-awaited clash between Rudy Golden Boy and Paris Pernandes finally went down at Holywings Sport Show (HSS) 6, in collaboration with Baku Hantam, held at W Superclub Gatsu, Jakarta. The bout carried more than just the weight of pride. It was the culmination of weeks of heated exchanges and online rivalry between two of the most recognizable figures in Indonesia’s influencer fight scene.

In the lead-up, Paris, the CEO of HSS and crowned Sport Creator of the Year 2024, stood as a face of showmanship and confidence. Across from him was Rudy Golden Boy, the CEO of Baku Hantam, known for his years of combat experience, particularly in Muay Thai and MMA. What was once social media drama eventually turned into an official grudge match, bringing together fans from both camps eager to see which side would back up their words with action.

The fight itself was tense but rarely explosive. Both men began cautiously, exchanging body shots and straight punches, each trying to gauge the other’s rhythm. Paris showed moments of aggression, especially late in the second round when he landed a combination that forced Rudy on the defensive. Yet as the fight wore on, Rudy’s composure and experience took over. He controlled the exchanges, kept his defense tight, and dictated the tempo across the five rounds.

The judges scored it unanimously in Rudy’s favor: 45-48, 39-47, and 45-46, awarding him the WIC (World Influencer Championship) belt. The win solidified Rudy’s growing reputation as the most influential figure in Indonesia’s local combat sports landscape. Coming off his prior victory at BYON Combat, Rudy has become a defining presence, showing up to every fight, settling disputes in the ring, and keeping the competitive fire of the scene alive.

However, the outcome also raised questions about Paris Pernandes’ direction as a promoter and a fighter. Once seen as a leader bringing structure and creativity to the influencer combat circuit, Paris now faces doubts about whether he can maintain that role. Was this loss a sign of inexperience under pressure, or does it reveal that his focus has shifted too much toward showmanship over substance? His performance, while brave, lacked the sharpness and strategy needed to win against a seasoned striker like Rudy.

In the end, the fight was both a victory and a warning. Rudy proved he is the benchmark for anyone wanting to make a name in Indonesia’s growing combat scene. Paris, on the other hand, must decide whether he will evolve as a real competitor or remain a figure of entertainment.

For now, the crowd has its answer. Rudy Golden Boy stands tall once again, leaving both fans and rivals to acknowledge that he is not just part of the conversation—he is leading it.
